Rules of the contest VIETNAM RAILWAYS – MY LOVE
1. Objectives
- After the 2010 "Vietnam railways in my eyes" contest's success, organization board has decided to open 2011 contest with the theme of "Vietnam railways – my love".
- To raise an excited atmosphere across the forum and to create chances for members to show their ability and passionate with Vietnam railways.
- To create collaboration and make friendships between railways fan in the country and in the world.
- To keep the most beautiful moments and interesting commentaries to advertise Vietnam railways images to friends from all over the world.
- To promote our forum to attract the public attention as well as collect more and more railways fans.
- To build up a set of valuable documentaries for our forum.
2. Rules of the contest
2.1 Stipulation on contestants
All people who have registered to forum daumaytoaxe.com, except for organization board members (also known as judge board).
2.2 Stipulation on entries
All entries participating in "Vietnam railways – my love" should be in one or both of the following topics.
2.2.1 A photo or a set of photos consisting of no more than 8 photos, including a commentary for that photo or set of photos representing the idea of the author.
2.2.2 A piece of writing consisting of no more than 2000 words and 8 illustrating photos or pictures.
The writing piece should be about a story, a memory on Vietnam railways of yours or someone you know, a reportage, memoir, commentaries, et cetera.
Regardless of whichever type the writing piece is in, it should be contest-theme focused.
The writing piece should be in .doc format, font Times New Roman, font size 14. If there are illustrating photos, they should be bound separately in .jpg format.
Every contestant is allowed to take part in both topics, but for each topic, there are no more than 5 entries.
The size of the photo is not limited.
The photo should be in .jpg format.
Entries must be in good content. Any violations on Vietnamese cultures, States and Government or satire on other members may result in elision from the contest.
2.3 Stipulation on submission

Speaking of photo entries:
- Original photo (taken from camera or scanned from video clip (only applied to physical camera)). This photo must not be edited by any photo editor software and should be used to back up and apply to solve any problems related to copyright issues. This photo will not be posted.
- Edited photo. This photo has been edited by any photo editing software. It is edited in any ways the author wants, except for adding borders or changing background. This photo is taken to be the official one and will be posted to the forum.
- Commentary for the photo. The format has been stated before and thus, every contestant should follow. Please note that if you send us a set of photos, you should state clearly in the commentary document the order of the photos.
Speaking of piece of writing entries:
- Writing piece file in .doc format, font type Times New Roman, font size 14.
- Illustrating photos.
- Any related information (if available).
NOTE: every photo must not be copyright stamped, this job will be conducted by the contest organization board.
2.4 Stipulation on allowed submission period
From June 6, 2011 to October 6, 2011.
2.5 Stipulation on assessment period
- First round: From October 7, 2011 to October 14, 2011. In this period, 20 most excellent entries will be qualified.
- Second round: From October 15, 2011 to October 22, 2011. In this period, 15 most excellent entries will be qualified.
- Third round: From October 23, 2011 to October 30, 2011. In this period, 5 most excellent entries will be chosen to the final.
- Final: From November 1, 2011 to November 11, 2011 tentatively. In this period, prizes will be decided.
1 first prize: for the most excellent photo entry.
1 second prize.
1 third prize.
2 fourth prizes.
Other prizes, based on sponsors' decision.
2.6 Stipulation on assessment criteria
- Photos must show the beauty and the author's passionate and love with Vietnam railways.
- Documentaries must show the author's deep passionate and love, knowledge and understanding about Vietnam railways tradition and history.
- Entries should be assessed in these criteria:
The number of thanks the entries have received.
The assessment of organization board and the professionals.
The participating spirit of the author to the contest and the forum.
3. Other stipulations
- Forum daumaytoaxe.com is supposed to use every entry for forum promoting and other eventual activities without permission from the author.
- Organization board members and super moderators are not allowed to take part in the contest.
- The stipulations presented are only tentative and subject to change to best suit the reality. In addition, organization board's decision is official.

5. Prizes
